That’s right, we’re already outta here. After four years, why? The biggest reason is the zoning officer, Derek Leary. He has targeted our small family run nonprofit organization for the last two years without having a single community complaint filed against us (in New Jersey, zoning violations are supposed to be on a complaint driven system). This action against us has caused too much irreversible damage, emotionally and financially, for us to want to stay here. Moving will hopefully appease the courts, Derek Leary, and most importantly it will be what’s best for all our current residents to live in peace.
Other justifiable reasons to relocate are things like the increased flood risk locally, parasitic bugs wreaking havoc on the animals, and because the township officials continue to make us feel unwelcome.
So, we have already sold our property! We have an amazing realtor. So, we now have to raise some funds to help us relocate. And fast! We started a GoFundMe and would appreciate any donated amount if possible. If you can’t donate you can share with others who may wish to help the animals here.
